Located in the heart of the quiet and quaint Southport historic district, this cozy room offers a unique experience to step back in time. There is so much to see and enjoy in historic Southport that you could park your car at the hotel for your entire stay and walk everywhere and get to experience a lot! You can take your own leisurely tour of the historic neighborhood that surrounds this hotel and view all the interesting fisherman's cottages and Victorian Era homes with plaques dating all the way back to the 1700s and 1800s. At the same time, you can take in the spectacular views of the mouth of the Cape Fear River and Caswell Beach with the Oak Island Lighthouse. We highly recommend taking this leisurely tour around sunset when you can not only experience the spectacular sunset over the water, but also witness these old houses as the lights come on at night with covered front porches set up like outdoor living rooms, table lamps glowing and people sitting around talking as night falls. You will find the people friendly and are likely get a wave and a "Hello!" as you walk by. Each house has its own historic story to tell as you will read on the plaques, or you can take a guided tour to learn more specifics about Southport's history. Relax on one of the swings at the waterfront or walk over to the Southport Marina to go boating out on the water.
